We’ve gotten a lot of questions about Experian’s strategic investment in UG. First, Experian does not have a controlling interest. These are prefered shares only. Second, this investment tranche is essential not only to UG’s survival, but also its ability to scale. Third, Experian has made heroic improvements in its ability to guard personal data. Fourth, UG’s privacy policy has been exceedingly explicit about UG’s long term intentions to provide premium services to select corporate partners. There are no free lunches. Fifth, Experian has made a good faith commitment not to share our users’ raw DNA data with its corporate subscribers. Only aggregated personality scores with a medium ISO granularity will be shared.
We’ll be notifying users when our API connection with Experian is connected.
